NEWSFLASH: God wants only the best for me.

In my earlier note, I spoke about the book I’m reading, A Shepherd Looks At Psalm 23 by Phillip Keller. What a blessing it has been to me and now also to my mom who is reading it aloud to me. Its main topic is comparing our lives as Christians to that of sheep. Let me just share that sheep are some of the dumbest animals alive yet we are so like them it leaves me laughing at how STUPID humans are. Why did God chose this analogy time and time again throughout scripture? Because we are soooo like them.
Since my diagnosis I have been reflecting a whole lot on my life, my broken relationships like the one I have with my own brother and how I became the person I am today. What have I learned? I am a control freak. I even try to control my Shepherd the real expert. I correct things, I ignore Him, question His decisions until I go mad over the why’s and how comes.  I need to learn to accept His will blindly following Him no matter how difficult or uncomfortable it is.
NEWSFLASH: God wants only the best for me.
I know this is shocking to some of His sheep but He has never left my side, put me in situations that won’t help me grow or allowed any relationship that won’t teach me something incredible. Can you say duh-uh with me? If you aren’t learning something new about God allow me to enlighten you. You are crippling yourself spiritually. Never stop! Just like your education in your field of work to stay at the top of your game; learning through church attendance and listening to messages, bible study, devotions, books written to help you grow…Stay on top off your spiritual life, God wants only the best for you…so let Him give it to you.
Okay enough of Adrienne 101, I have some crazy good news- only THE DOCTOR knows everything. Before surgery my surgeon was “concerned” about my future because my cancer had reached my lymph nodes. He thought that more than likely I was in Stage 4 (note: there are only 5 stages), not good. When I asked straightforwardly, “Am I going to die?” his response was “Yes, the results aren’t very promising. I’m really ‘concerned’?” There was that word again. Do you really know what that word means? “I dunno. Your guess is as good as mine and I’m just as scared about it as you are.”
But here’s the kicker, I’m not “concerned.” My DOCTOR does know and I’m going to trust in Him. Post-surgery on New Year’s Eve my great surgeon called me and changed his tune. GOOD NEWS: Only three of the 12 lymph nodes taken had cancer cell in them and I am in stage 2B. I still haven’t gotten around to looking this up. Is it really necessary? Nope.
GOD WANTS ONLY THE BEST FOR ME!
I’m feeling great with some discomfort which is expected. My home care nurses are shocked at well I am doing. Not a shocker to me I have people and churches literally all over the world praying for me. So where do I go from here? I go to see my surgeon the 5th to get my drains taken out (ouch!), the oncologist at Moffitt the 19th, and the oncologist here in Melbourne on the 26th.  I’m up for visitors but not really wanting to talk on the phone. So if you’d like to stop by, please do! No screaming children please. J Just kidding. Here is some info. you may need:

Thank you, Adrienne, for sharing your situation in this format. Having heard from your Mother, Mary, and then Rachael, my family and I immediately reached out to our respective groups and prayer will continue to do so. I have posted your blog on my FB in hopes that others will join-in (friends & family alike), and pray that you continue to grown in health as you recover. There's one personal thing I wish to share with you that Immeasurably lifted my spirits when we were visiting in Florida for Rachael & Steven's wedding, after we'd just met --- and that's when you came up to a small group of us and told us how you intended to include a bible passage - no matter what - in the ceremony! I knew right then and there that you were, and are, a gifted child of God and that He is first in your life - and always will be. As a child of God, and a friend in Jesus, we are proud to be a part of your family! Gary, Jennifer, David & Danielle McClendon --

Que el Señor, nuestro Dios, te guarde en Su lado y en Su cuidado. Yo pido cada día q crezcas más en la salud y en la fe. Amen -- or, "May the Lord, our God, keep you always by his side and in his care and I pray each day you grow closer in health and in faith. Amen"

Hi Adrienne - I just want you to know that I pray for you daily. My faith has been the one thing that has helped me through the path of breast cancer. I'm so glad that you are not asking "why" of God, but rather, "why not?". As one of his sheep, he will lead you where he feels you will best serve HIM and others.
Know that there are many of us survivors praying for your well being. God bless and keep the faith!

Well Girl there are too many memories to walk down that lane, so I will pick one. ON our crazy trip to southern Chile and we chicas left Pablo fishing and we headed down the dirt road to no where. Remember the flowering bushes coming out to attack us, the georgous waterfall we found, the fly fishing resort in the middle of all that nowhereness. We laughed till we tinkled, ate berries that we had no idea what they were. I will never forget that trip.

Oh course my car will never forget the stop at the toll booth either. ja ja ja ja ja ja ja ja. Oh wait you shouldn't be laughing. sorry :D

We both know that our God is the Physcian in control and that he is master orchestrator of our lives.

This path may not be as fun as the one down in Puerta Vagas but he found this path for you nad for us to go down together once again.

So we adventersome ladies will just have to head out one step at a time.

Don't forget your crazy cohort in adventures as you start this one. We found the best nuggests of info, best places to eat, best short cuts around Santiago. We will find the best of this journey too.

Emili and I pray for you every night as we have since we hit US soil those long almost four years ago. Give Emma a hug from us.

Love ya your co-conspirator in crime, uh I mean adventure, Anna
